Style Request: [Journal of Applied Physiology]

Journal of applied physiology is missing in the list.
People won't necessarily look for American Physiological Society or other related journals.
You should add a direct link in the list.
But once again, thank you guys.
  • Thank you for all of the legwork in developing this style!
The Journal of Neurophysiology is one of those on the list based on the APS style, however the requirements are slightly different in that citations and bibliography entries are not numbered.

I have taken the time to edit adamsmith's style posted on the repository and update it to reflect this change. Since it is based on the existing APS style, I'm not sure how to go about uploading it to the repository, since there is already a dependency placeholder there.
  • Thanks.
If you know how to work with SVN you would remove the JofN style from the Dependent style folder and put your corrected version in the regular csl folder.
If you don't know how to or want to deal with subversion, you can upload your style somewhere (gist.github.com doesn't require registration e.g.) and I'll take care of that for you.
  • I put in the request to create my SVN account, but got tired of waiting. I'm still poised to commit my update, but can't authenticate on SVN. Oh well.
Here's the git public URL (never used it before, so hope i'm doing this right!):
    git://gist.github.com/237341.git

Please reply with any comments. If you think this file should be brought up in a new forum thread, let me know. Thanks!
  • OK, I've uploaded the style, but I couldn't actually find the dependent style in my checked out copy of the repository (yes, I did update), though I see it in the actual repository. Uhm, let's see what happens...
  • Yeah, I didn't see the dependent style when I checked out the style repository either. There weren't any text matches to the journal anywhere either. Hopefully the upload to the main folder will override the dependency. What would the time frame for a post on the site be?
  • it's actually up already. There are now two styles.
I'm at a loss as two why the dependent one is still up.
  • It's gone.

I'm not clear on what the "checked out" issue is/was... What's the problem, exactly?
  • Thanks!
I didn't have the journal-of-neurophysiology.csl file in the csl/dependent folder of my SVN checkout, although it still showed up in the repository -
I assumed I would select it for removal during the commit - which obviously I couldn't do since it wasn't there.
  • Oh, it has the wrong name: journal-of-neurology.csl

    (grep -i neurophys *)

The question then being, is Journal of Neurology an APS style?
  • no. it's not.
    Journal of Neurology is here:
    http://www.springer.com/steinkopff/neurologie/journal/415?detailsPage=contentItemPage&CIPageCounter=513009
first glance it looks like a Vancouver variation, definitely not the same style though.
  • OK, thanks. I removed the invalid dependent style.
  • Thanks for your help in getting the new style up! That was my first one, and probably going to end up doing a few more over time in the field of neuroscience.

I wasn't able to grep for the text match because I was on WinXP. Stupid inaccurate text matching.
