Firefox could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor.

I am having one of those days where I would actually have achieved *more* by staying in bed. So this may not be a Zotero problem but on the hope that it is, and it's easily fixable:

when I try to Set Document Preferences I get this

"Firefox could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor. Please ensure that the appropriate Firefox extension is installed, then try again"

[JavaScript Error: "[Exception... "'java.security.PrivilegedActionException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException' when calling method: [nsIFactory::createInstance]" nsresult: "0x8057001c (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_JS_OBJECT)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/integration.js :: execCommand :: line 127" data: no]" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/integration.js" line: 127}]

firefox 3.5.3 openoffice 3.1 zotero r5192 openoffice integration 3.0a2

I've tried uninstalling the plug in and the extension but no joy.

Regards, Jon.
  • I'm not sure what's causing this, but try the OpenOffice trunk XPI.
  • Hi Simon - done that, also changed my URE directory from

    /usr/lib/jre1.6.0_11/

    to

    /opt/openoffice.org3/basis-link/ure-link/share/java/

    and it seems to be behaving (fingers very crossed, as my both me and my system are a bit unstable at the mo.) :)
