chicago style, extra comma after author in footnotes

Hello. I am getting two commas after the name in my chicago style footnotes. can this be fixed?

example: Beaver, , “From Herbert Beaver to committee of the Aborigines Protection Society in London.”

Happens in the first instance as well: Herbert Beaver, , “From Herbert Beaver to committee of the Aborigines Protection Society in London,” 1842, Oregon Historical Society Research Library

Help!
  • shouldn't happen (and doesn't if the data is in order.
    Which Chicago style?
Could you tell us exactly what is in which field of the respective item and what item type?
  • never mind, it was my data. turns out when I grab a source from some catalogues the names come with a comma, and then zotero also inserts a comma and that seems to be the problem.
