Add pictures abnormally in the right-hand pane (note) of a PDF file

After we have added the notes of a item, the pictures could be added normally. However, we add pictures abnormally in the right-hand pane (note) of a PDF file in the Windows system.
  • I'm not sure what you mean here. Can you provide Steps to Reproduce, and say what you mean by "abnormally"? You can just post in your native language.

When we unfold a journal item and select a PDF, we want to edit the right-hand pane of the PDF of the journal item. But we find that the picture is shown gray and abnormal when the picture pasted in the right-hand note of PDF. We install zotero in the windows system.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Start Zotero.
    2. In My Library, click a journal item, and select the PDF of journal item.
    3. We want to paste or drag a picture to the right-hand pane of the PDF to add picture note. But we find the pasted picture is gray and shown abnormally.
    4. After that, right click on the journal item, we also try to add the "new note" of journal item, and paste or drag the picture to new note, the picture is shown normal.
  • Can you take some screenshots that show what you're describing, upload them somewhere (e.g., Dropbox or Google Drive), and provide a link here?

I have not used the Dropbox or Google Drive. Could you provide a email to send the creenshots conveniently?
  • support@zotero.org
  • Many thanks. I have sent the email (support@zotero.org) to you. The attachments of email include two screenshots, you could see the pasted picture in the right-hand pane of the PDF is gray.

OK, got it — you're referring to embedded notes for attachment items. Those don't support embedded images for technical reasons. Support for that kind of note is also likely to be discontinued in a future version, with existing notes moved to regular child notes on the parent item, so I'd encourage you to just use regular child notes, which have full functionality.
