Annotation text is too long for attachment

I made an error report for this: 1675731673

I'm not sure what causes the error - I just imported my Mendeley library and something is wrong with this annotation apparently, and may be affecting the syncing of my library.

    Yeah, this indicates a problem with some annotations from Mendeley. We'll have a general fix within a few days, but for now, paste 5UCN8RRD into the Zotero search bar in All Fields & Tags mode, double-click the PDF that shows up, open the left-hand sidebar of the PDF reader, and look at the highlighted annotations. Do you see huge annotations that cover lots of text on the page? If not, if you double-click on the annotation text in the sidebar, does the text that shows up match the highlighted text, or is it much longer? Basically, some highlights for this PDF were interpreted as covering a huge amount of text, and we'd like to know what's causing that.

    I checked the PDF and all of the annotations. The text in the sidebar is much longer than the actual highlighted/annotated section in the text. Should I just wait until there is a fix for this? Otherwise I assume I'd need to delete and redo all the annotations (which I don't really want to do).

    Would you mind sending the PDF to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread, along with some of the specific highlighted sections (both the visibly highlighted text and the text that shows up in the sidebar)?

    (Since the highlighted text is clearly incorrect, we're planning to have it automatically truncate the too-long annotation text when syncing. We should have that fix in place in a few days. But it'd be good to figure out exactly why this is happening and prevent it properly.)

    The annotation text should now be truncated automatically to a more reasonable size when you sync.

    Basically, the PDF text layer is incorrect here, with the text repeated multiple times. If you're going to be adding annotations to notes, you would still want to edit the annotation text and correct it, but otherwise you should now be able to sync.
