Zotero Extension for Chrome Not Working

I am sure the problem is my internet security settings. I have McAfee Protection. Does anyone know which security settings to change in order to fix this issue.
Zotero is open but I still get this message: "This item could not be saved because Zotero is not open or is unreachable. Please open Zotero and try again."

    I followed the instructions. It says the Zotero Connector Server is Availible. And then I went to an online pdf, and when I try to save it to Zotero is says...This item could not be saved because Zotero is not open or is unreachable. Please open Zotero and try again.
    Zotero is open. I have tried closing and repening many times. So for other some reason it is unreachable.
    Is it the security settings?

    I am able to view the url, and my Zotero Connector is availible.
    So these instructions are not helping me.

    Why am I not able to save, even though Zotero.org is open on my computer?

    No, you're misreading the page. You can load the URL, but the Connector is telling you it's offline, so that section applies. This is a problem in your browser or with security software on your computer, not with Zotero.

    This is what it says when I load the url: Zotero Connector Server is Available

    When I load an online pdf, the pdf symbol shows up, then it says saving to Zotero, but then an error message appears saying it cannot save.

    Right, but that’s just the URL, talking about the Connector Server. It’s not the same as the Connector itself. See the text I quoted above.
