MacOS (M1) Word add citation always jumps to bibliography

Adding a footnote citation always jumps not to the footnote, which would be okay (better would be to leave cursor alone), but to the far end of the document, the bibliography. Is this configurable or a known issue?

What version of Word (like 16.64) and Zotero are you using?

Can you reproduce this in a new document? What citation style are you using?

I cannot reproduce this in a new document. In the new document, the cursor moves to the new footnote at the bottom of the page rather than to the reference list at the end of the document.

I will try creating a new document and pasting in the content and go from there. Thanks for your replies.

BTW, I am using Chicago 17th edition.
