Citation style Journal of Medical Internet Research
Hello,
I am about to submit a paper in the JMIR. I used the zotero citation style: Journal of Medical Internet Research. As I saw on the journal's website they are preferring the PMID numbers if available and that the PMID's or DOI's are not in square brackets.
Here are the instructions for the references from this journal: https://support.jmir.org/hc/en-us/articles/115001333067
Could you recommend me another citation style that suits better?
Greetings
Angela

I just checked the style.
1. The style outputs PMIDs when available. (make sure your entries have PMIDs)
2. In their final typeset papers (i.e. the pdf) they have square brackets, like such:
91. Bennetts SK, Hokke S, Crawford S, Hackworth NJ, Leach LS, Nguyen C, et al. Using paid and free Facebook methods to recruit Australian parents to an online survey: an evaluation. J Med Internet Res 2019 Mar 06;21(3):e11206 [FREE Fulltext] [doi: 10.2196/11206] [Medline: 30839282]
I would submit the paper with our style. If they really say something (I doubt it), then please let us know and I'd have a fix up as fast as I answered you here today.
