Organising the articles

Hi

Whenever I download any article, I directly save them in Zotero. But then, I forget which ones I read and which I have not read. I want to understand the unread papers easily. What is the best way to do that?

I've seen two main approaches:
1. You only place articles into collections when you read them, so the "Unfiled Items" view are your unreads
2. You use colored tags to quickly assign a "Read" tag to items you have read. That way any items without that color (or even emoji -- if you name the tag as the open book emoji, that'll get displayed for items in the middle panel instead of the color) is unread

I find that sorting by "Date Added" (which you can add to the columns) is useful for reminding me which papers I added in a batch last night
