Library database search results not matching Zotero upload

Hi, when I do a search in ERIC (a library database) I get, for example, 2,333 hits. When I upload the RIS file into Zotero the number of article citations/article information in Zotero does not match the ERIC results. For example, it says there are 2,177 in Zotero. Why is this happening? Where are the missing articles? How can I reconcile this? I'm using Zotero to conduct a meta-analysis, so I need the number of articles to match up perfectly. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
  • How are you accessing ERIC? Through Proquest, EBSCO, or directly on ERIC?

Open the RIS file and search for TY - and count the number of results. That's the number of entries in the RIS. If that's 2,177, the issue is at ERIC and there's nothing Zotero can do. If it's larger than 2,177, could you specify the exact search you're using so we can replicate it?
  • Hi, I'm accessing ERIC through Proquest. I download the RIS file from ERIC (through Proquest), open it with Zotero, and on the right side of Zotero it says there are 2,177 citations.

    What is "TY"?
  • Sorry, I meant to write "open the RIS with a text editor" (ideally a good one like VS Code or Notepad++ or so), where you can look at the text and just count the occurrences of "TY - "
