Modify URLs

Hello,

A quick question : does anyone know if it's possible to modify a URL you saved using the "save a link to current page" function ?
Here is why i want to do this : i have some links with accents like é or è and all that stuff. But when i save the links to the pages on zotero, it saves lomething like %102 instead of the letter with the accent. What happens then is that when accessing my library through the website, i cannot click on the links...
thanks

  • actually i figured i could jut not use accents
however i'm still running in another problem. I wanted to share files. since it's not yet available through groups, i figured i could store the files i want to share on a server and then provide the link to the file on the server (since all the people I want to share the files with have access to the server).
    I tried using URL of 2 types : file:///C:/zotero/AF_Note-19.pdf and C:\zotero\AF_Note-19.pdf.
However, when i access my library through the website and click on the URL, nothing happens... but if i copy and paste the url in firefox the file opens...
anyone can help me with that ? it would be greatly appreciated...

Just to make sure there's not a problem here, can you provide an example of a page where this occurs?

Those URLs are local to your computer. For security reasons, Firefox won't allow such URLs to work from a web page (since otherwise a site could cause all sorts of mischief).

When you copy and paste them into Firefox yourself, it assumes you know what you're doing and opens the local files. Zotero isn't subject to the above security restrictions, so clicking on them from Zotero itself will also work.
