It's not clear what you're doing here. Can you explain exactly how you're trying to save? What's the URL you're saving from?

But you're saying have access to the PDF on ScienceDirect? If you don't, this error is expected.

But if you're able to view the PDF on ScienceDirect, first make sure you're running the latest version of Zotero (currently 6.0.9).

Then see this comment and the post of mine earlier in the thread that it refers to. Try increasing extensions.zotero.downloadPDFViaBrowser.onLoadTimeout in the Config Editor of the Advanced pane of the Zotero preferences to 3000 and see if that helps. (You'll need to reload the page in your browser before trying to save again.)

But if you're able to fix this by increasing that setting, you should let us know the lowest value that works reliable for you. (Again, be sure to reload the page after each change to the setting.)
