images shrunk in notes

I'm desperate. All my images pasted to the notes in previous versions of zotero are shrunk to tiny thumbnails in the new version.
Pasting screenshots into the notes as a mental note and overview of the paper has been my main reason for using zotero. Are these images destroyed or only rendered that small?
Can you fix this issue and resize the images to the original size?

This seems to be somehow related to the Paste (Ctrl-V) issue here:

Unfortunelty this "fluke" feature has been my main workflow.
  • Could you show a screenshot demonstrating the issue?

    Sorry for the delay. I got no email and didn't realize that there was a reply.

    Hope this screenshot link works:

    In the previous version of Zotero I added a hires image of the figure by making a screenshot in the PDF viewer and adding it via copy & paste to the notes. Maybe I resized it a little bit to fit the large image into the lower pane.

    After Zotero has updated to the current version there is this tiny image embedded in a frame as shown in the screenshot. I can not resize or copy the image.
    I couldn't find the image file in the Zotero folder either. Is it stored in the database?
  • @_volker_ Could you export this note to HTML (Right click on note item and then Export Noteā€¦), and send to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
  • @martynas_b I doubt that the HTML output is very helpful. It just contains an empty div "zotero-notes":

    Exported in Markdown format, it generates an empty file (0 bytes).
    Exported in RDF format, it's a 248 KB file (it's alive!) and contains a base64 encoded png, which may help?

    <rdf:RDF xmlns...>
    <z:Attachment rdf:about="#item_312">
    <z:itemType>attachment</z:itemType>
    <dc:title>Wolterink et al. - 2017 - Deep MR to CT Synthesis using Unpaired Data.pdf</dc:title>
    <link:type>application/pdf</link:type>
    <dc:description>

</dc:description>
    </z:Attachment>
    </rdf:RDF>

    Should I try something else, or zip this files and send it to the support?

    Note:
    I unescaped the inner HTML code in
    <dc:description> and the HiRes image of the original note is still there as shown in this screenshot: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgHOkq9fvv7tgpMou8lB5Ni2c-f5pw?e=vDQH7s

    HTML:

  • @_volker_ Yes, please send the whole RDF file.
  • Done. Thanks for your support.
  • Currently Zotero doesn't properly support images in attachment notes. If that would be a separate note, the image would be imported and visible in full size.
  • Is it possible to convert the notes or restore the image files?
    I couldn't find the images in the filesystem, so the only solutions seems to be to make new screenshots for all papers.
    Or may be attachment notes with images will be support in the near future (as in the previous version of Zotero)?
  • Well, it depends on how many notes you have like this, but you can manually copy note content from PDF attachment to a new child note. This way all your images will be properly imported.
