APA 7 secondary citations (as cited in) (SOLVED)

When adding the prefix 'as cited in' to the secondary citation, Zotero by default adds a semicolon (;). This should be a comma (,) in APA 7 Style.

(Author, year, as cited in Author, year, p. number).

How to change it? or can someone fix Zotero's code?
  • When adding the prefix 'as cited in', add a comma (,) before the text.

    ', as cited in'

Zotero automatically changes and replaces the semicolon with a comma.
  • Not that, per APA style, if you want (A, as cited in B), you should only only cite B and then enter all of “A, as cited in” as a prefix.

But I also strongly recommend not doing this at all. You should seek out the A reference itself, read it, and cite it directly, rather then relying on a secondary citation. Citations are frequently erroneous or specious, so it is typically a bad idea to assume that an author cited a source and interpreted it correctly.
