Is there no way to erase a highlighted text?

And not just the undo button - what if I want to erase hightlighter from annotations I made days ago? Am I the only one not finding this option?

    Tap/click the highlight to select the annotation, then delete it with the delete key or 3 dots menu button.

    there is another way, you can go to lateral left bar in show annotations and you can select those what you want to erase on set
