pdf modifications using Zotero pdf viewer not present when opening with other software
Greetings,
To keep this brief, I have recently switched from distant memory of using Mendeley to using Zotero in part because of its open philosophy but the incorporated pdf reader of Zotero 6 certainly helped.
I can't help but notice that any changes I make (highlighting, notes) to pdfs in this reader are not there if I open the files with adobe/foxit/zoo for zotero in my Android. Is this intentional, or are there plans to change this and make the changes apply directly to the file in storage/in cloud when syncing?
Do the changes to pdfs count to my storage for different pay tiers (300 MB in free, more if having a subscription)?
I would like these clarifications, but if it keeps this way I have no issue with opening the pdf version in Storage folder of my user with other software and making permanent changes there since those thankfully do sync and that's the functionality I most want.
Thanks in advance.

adamsmithSee https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/annotations_in_database Note sure I understand the question: the PDFs count towards storage, but annotations don't really affect the amount of space used in a meaningful way.

schymansI have also been wondering if annotations made in the internal pdf viewer could be saved in the pdfs themselves. Currently, they seem to only be saved in the library.
