annotations

Hi,

I just wanted to mention that the annotation section used to be better before the changes were made to the website last week. I used to be able to highlight in so many different colours and create indents or remove indents as well as create bullet point as I wished. All on this has been removed. Now I really struggle to take good notes on Zotero (computer version).

One other bug that could be a great change is to add a modification section when we create reports so we can amend them easily adding or removing the features we would like to appear and also to make them appear in a less random order than they currently do.

I hope that this feedback can help for the future changes you will make.

best wishes,

Pauline
  • Zotero 6 includes a new built-in PDF reader, so you just weren't using that before. See the announcement for more details.

If you want to use an external PDF reader, you can set that from the General pane of the preferences.
  • I understand but that does not really help with my issue. I use Zotero to make notes from literature of course but also to create notes from my teacher's lessons and for that I am rephrasing everything myself in independent child notes. It used to be perfect to build very personalised child notes but now unless they come from the pdf itself as you said they cannot be very purposeful/organised anymore. Are these text modification tools going to come back on the computer version? I only still see them on the phone version.

    best,

    Pauline

Oh, you're talking about the notes in the note editor, not annotations (which refers to PDF annotations).

Paragraph indentation via Tab/Shift-Tab will return in an upcoming version.

You can still create nested lists — select from the Aa menu or use Markdown syntax
  • @Pvidal001: We've restored paragraph indenting in 6.0.3, available now via Help → Check for Updates. You can press Tab and Shift-Tab to indent and unindent the current paragraph.
