Unable to upgrade to Zotero 6.0 from 5.096.3 on Ubuntu

I had troubles upgrading my current Zotero version to the latest. The report ID is 388975575

My current Zotero version is 5.0.96.3 on a Ubuntu 20.04. I went to the menu Help > Check for updates and the window is stuck at "Applying updates..." for 15 minutes.

    Just close it and restart. If that doesn't work, reinstall.

    I hope this won't be needed on later versions or at least an informative message is provided to the user.

    It's just a random bug with the framework updater that happens to people occasionally. Unfortunately nothing we can do about it at the moment, but nothing to worry about.
