link directed to journal

is it possible to have the zotero links redirect the user to the actual article in the journal?
  • for example when I add a reference to a google doc and click on the link of the reference I get the following text

"You likely ended up here by clicking on a citation created by Zotero in a Google Doc.

To safely edit the document, you should install the Zotero Connector for your browser."

I would be great if I could instead have Zotero present a page saying you are now being redirected to .... and link to the actual journal article for example

"You likely ended up here by clicking on a citation created by Zotero in a Google Doc. You will now be redirected to the article referenced... https://doi.org/10.1177/053901885024002001"
  • No, you're just not supposed to see that page. There's currently a bug in the Zotero Connector, due to a Google Docs site change, that causes that link to appear instead of "Edit in Zotero". We'll be pushing out a fix for that shortly.

Everyone editing the doc should have the Zotero Connector installed, which will show "Edit in Zotero" when it's working properly, and when you submit or share the document you unlink citations in a copy.
  • thanks for the update. I guess than I would also like to make a request if I submit the document it would be great to have the option to update linked citations to use the URL instead.
