Highlight when selected

Hello,
Thank you for your hard work and excellent wisdom! But, I have some questions.
1.Can you change the highlighting method to highlight when selected? It is very troublesome to click twice when I select a sentence and then click on the highlighted color
2.Why can't I add pictures to my annotations?
  • 1.Can you change the highlighting method to highlight when selected?
That's exactly how it works if you turn on highlighting mode in the toolbar.
2.Why can't I add pictures to my annotations?
Not sure what you mean by that.
  • Thanks.
    1. I mean in my note, when I select a sentence and then it can be highlighed immediately, not in my PDF.
2.I want to add some pictures to my notes. For example, when I read a paper, I just want to save some figures or tables in my notes. In Zotero 5.1, I can still do this, but now I can not.

Ah, OK. I don't think highlighting in notes is very common, but we can think about this. There'd either have to be a color popup after selecting text similar to what's in the PDF reader or there'd need to be a separate button in the note editor toolbar to enable highlighting mode separately from choosing a color. Those would both be a bit distracting for something that most people won't use, but we'll talk about it.

Zotero 5 didn't support images in notes at all — the fact that it worked at all was a fluke, and it broke syncing.

Zotero 6 officially supports images in notes. You can drag them in, and there's a button in the note editor toolbar to add them. They're saved as attachments and count against your file storage quota. It's not currently possible to paste in images but that's planned.
  • Oh! Well.
    1. I often write in my notes, that's just a half-baked suggestion. Sometimes, I kind of wish the Note had as much text editing as possible, like Microsoft Word. Ha ha. But, that doesn't matter, I will always support Zotero!
    2. In addition, I saw the method of adding images on https://www.zotero.org/blog/
Of course, I also hope to add the function of pasting pictures in the note.
    That's all, thanks a lot.
