webDAV server connection issues

Zotero (version 6) is synching (records created yesterday on my laptop appear to me on my desktop today) but not able to open file attachments for those records today on my desktop computer. Getting a Permission Denied message when I select "Verify Server" in the Sync preferences. I have confirmed that the URL, the username and the password are correct. Am I missing some other setting in the sync?
