How to sync notes and annotations

Hello, hello friends

How is your research going?

Thanks for Zotero, it's a gamechanger.

I want to sync my PDFs to Zotero online so I bought storage (2 GB just as a trial initally). PDFs synced and then obviously for 500 plus files, I need more storage. I am happy to buy unlimited storage, it's a great investment.

I am writing to ask this:

When I synced PDFs, the annotations didn't sync neither did my notes. I am reading online that they do. So what possibly could be wrong?

Help please!

Thanks
Pallavi.

If you're referring to PDF annotations made in the Zotero 6 beta, those don't yet show up in the web library. They sync with other Zotero 6 installs and the iOS app, currently in beta.

Regular Zotero notes sync with everything.
  • What's Zotero sync beta?

Oh I just checked, notes are syncing. Thanks.
  • Thank you. I'll wait for the beta to go live and then use it. Right now new to Zotero and so happy with it already :)

To be clear, though, if you're not using Zotero 6, PDFs in the desktop app just open in your PDF reader of choice, you take annotations in that app and save them back to the file, and then Zotero syncs the modified files. And those annotations would show up on the web library, since you're just opening the synced file online.
