How to select/choose pdf file being uploaded to online library?

Context: I have a shared library and the online storage is full because we allowed attached pdf to sync. Some of these pdf are not useful anymore for all user while the data associated to the entry is still relevant.

Is it possible to tell zotero not to upload/sync certain (chosen) pdf while syncing data?

Please do not hesitate to ask for explanations if I am not clear!
Best regards,
  • You can delete files you don't want or disable file editing for the group library if you don't want any files in the group. You can't sync files selectively beyond deleting the ones you don't want in the groups. The point of groups is to make everything available to group members.

@dstillman thanks for your answer. "can't sync files selectively" --> I understand it is impossible then :/ the point was to keep the data available for all group members while allowing each member to choose to upload/sync or not the attached pdf file.
    This was interesting to:
    1. avoid uploading files that are not relevant or all members, especilly large ones and
    2. keep an anotated version of an attached pdf for myself
  • You can keep irrelevant files or annotated copies in your own library. Things in the group library are meant for everyone.
  • @dstillman good point; I'll use the following workflow:
    1. import the data and files of the group library into my library and then,
    2. delete the file (not the data) in the group library.
    Many thanks! :)
