No page numbers for MLA8/9 Citation

I am using Zotero on Linux, and I cannot figure out how to add page numbers to my citations. I have looked and cannot figure out which field to put the pages numbers into, or if I can add them at the time of bibliography generation. Any help would be appreciated!

After selecting a citation in the cute bubble, click on it again. A new dialog opens where specify the pages you are currently refering to.
You can also refer to the documentation and acquaint yourself a bit more: https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_integration
  • I believe that only works for the Windows Microsoft Office version of Zotero. For the Linux x86_64 version, I am not using that plugin; I am multi-selecting sources and generating a bibliography that is copied to my clipboard. In the dialogue that appears when I do this, there doesn't appear to be an option to add page numbers. Is there something I'm missing?
  • You can use the Zotero plugin with LibreOffice or Google Docs on Linux.

Page numbers are included in the in-text citations, not the bibliography, so if you are copying a static bibliography to your clipboard, you wouldn’t expect page numbers to be included there. If you are generating in text citations manually, you need to also add the page numbers manually. For automated generation of citations and the bibliography, use the word processor plugin in LibreOffice or Google Docs.
  • Or there might be a misunderstanding? Page *ranges*, e.g. for journal articles and book chapters, should definitely appear in MLA bibliographies.
  • I figured it out: it was due to a different problem I was having. I couldn't get the names of containers to be italicized when I copied my bibliography to my clipboard. So I started changing item types to see if I could diagnose the problem, and when I changed the item types to document, it deleted the page range field (thank you to @adamsmith for catching my misnomer). The italicization problem seems to be an X11 clipboard issue, so my apologies for wasting anybody's time.
