Style Request: Multilingual Matters
Hi there,
I'm relatively new to Zotero. I'm trying to find a citation style that best matches what's requested by the publisher of my monograph. Is there a way when I use 'Style Preview' in the Cite tab of Preferences to see what an in-text citation will look like with a page reference? This is important to me because I am often able to find what seems like the perfect style but then there is a problem in terms of the way the page reference is formatted (I want [YEAR]:[SPACE][PAGE NUMBER], e.g. Smith 2005: 53).

There is no easy way to find that, but since you're going to submit to a publisher, we can look at making a custom style.
What's the publisher and do you have a link to the citation guidelines handy?
Alternatively, if you found something that matches all your requirements, but the citation-locator, then we can always guide you how to adapt that. Fairly easy.
The publisher is Multilingual Matters. Of course it would great to have the custom style created! The style is outlined at the end of this document: https://www.multilingual-matters.com/resources/docs/Author guidelines.docx
I've tried various styles but there always seem to be a few differences (e.g. the colon instead of comma + p.; 'eds' instead of 'Eds.' etc.). I've looked at modifying the style with the editor but it's beyond me without help …
can I ask you to:
1. Change the thread title to: Style Request: Multilingual Matters?
2. Review the following: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/citation-style-language/styles/1c1507cf649aa2ed1ccd761510c91a2cd16a0ae0/multilingual-matters.csl
Looking good … there are a few little differences from the style guide and a couple of things that aren't working. Shall I list them here?

6) I don't see any guidance for this in the guidelines. It gives a conference paper for me like this.

(No, there's nothing on conference papers in the guidance. I can check with them to see how they want it. In any case, I think the conference name and date needs to appear, but it doesn't for me currently.)
1 I'm still finding that the title is missing in documents:
Current output: Bowen, T. (2006), accessed 26 January 2022. https://www.onestopenglish.com/methodology-the-world-of-elt/teaching-approaches-the-grammar-translation-method/146493.article.

2 Also noticed that editor is not in brackets in edited collections, and ed rather than ed. is used, as well as eds. rather than eds:
Current output: Smith, R. ed. (2005) Teaching English as a foreign language, 1936-1961: Foundations of ELT. Abingdon: Routledge.
Wanted output: Smith, R. (ed) (2005) Teaching English as a foreign language, 1936-1961: Foundations of ELT. Abingdon: Routledge.
and

Wanted output: Richards, J.C. and Schmidt, R.W. (eds) (2007) Longman dictionary of language teaching and applied linguistics. (3rd edn). Harlow: Longman.
(This is only in a bibliography entry for the whole book. When the entry is for a book section, the formatting is fine. Apologies for not noticing this one before.)

Is it possible for this to be fixed? Thank you in advance.
