Zotero beta

I have uninstalled and reinstalled on my MAC about 5 times and cannot get the beta to remove and when I open the Zotero icon in my docking it says,


"This Zotero database requires Zotero 6.0-beta.2+8d8170583 or later.

Current version: 5.0.96.4

Please upgrade to the latest version from zotero.org."

HELP! I have to do my paper and can't get this working

    From the page where you installed the beta originally:
    note that beta versions occasionally update the database such that downgrading isn't possible without reverting to a backup copy of zotero.sqlite in the Zotero data directory or removing the local data directory and syncing to pull down data from the online library. You'll always be able to switch to the next major production release of Zotero.
    You should stay on the beta and switch to Zotero 6 when it comes out.
