Zotero no longer working with word

Even in a blank document, I now get the message "zotero experienced an error updating your doument. Would you like to veiw troubleshooting instructions."

My Report ID is 485503245

I am on Mac (Big Sur) and my word is 16.49. Both my Word and Zotero are up to date. This is a new problem that occurred recently. None of my older documents can update zotero either. Thank you.

    You should update to a current version of both Word and macOS. 16.49 is from last year.

    Thank you for this suggestion. The restart did not work. Unfortunately, I am limited by my company to Mac Os Big Sur for now. The word version is the newest that we have available as well. Is zotero plug in no longer compatible with 16.49? It was working even just last week.

    We haven't changed anything, but upgrading to current versions of everything would always be the next troubleshooting step after restarting.

    Thank you. Again, I can't upgrade any further for either item. What are the next troubleshooting steps?

    Sorry, but we're not able to troubleshoot old versions.

    But restarting is still very likely to be the fix here. It's likely some sort of intermittent problem with your Word installation, so restarting multiple times could help. Restarting has always fixed this error for people who've encountered it. It's not a problem in Zotero itself.
