Help with editing citation requested (adding year to some item types)

Hi all,

I am new to Zotero's style editor and cannot work out how to make a simple change to the style I need to use. I am using SAGE Vancouver, but want to adapt it to add the date (just the year) for the following item types: Presentation, TV broadcast, conference paper; Email; Manuscript.

Currently, when I export a bibliography using SAGE Vancouver, it does not include any date for those items.

Is anyone able to help guide me to make this edit? (or, if you're aware of it, link me to a Vancouver style that includes the above?).

Thanks!

Is this just a requirement you have for personal use or to publish the paper with a certain journal/publisher? Or is it an error in the style that needs fixing?
  • I'm not sure whether or not it's an error in the style, but, at the least it's a requirement for personal use.

There's a guide here, but it doesn't include all these styles (which might explain the discrepancy): https://uk.sagepub.com/sites/default/files/sage_vancouver_reference_style_1.pdf

Note, I made one error in my first post - conference papers do have dates in Zotero's SAGE Vancouver style. I've double checked and the others (presentations; TV broadcasts; Emails; Manuscripts) do not.

It's hard for me to imagine that the style wouldn't require at least the year for these items, and I wonder if it's an error in the style (resulting from these types' omission from the linked style guide as above)?
  • We can look at SAGE Vancouver, but how does this look?

it'd print years for all item types
