Special characters mess libre office plugin integration
Hello All,
I have a bunch of items with special characters á, ä, and the like and I just noticed that it completely blocks the citations actualization in libreoffice.
I was having a nightmare because non of the troubleshooting tricks worked, and I had the crazy idea, because the sync got blocked always in the same citation, and when I removed the special character and hit refreshed, zotero worked again.
Any tips for this? Now I have to remind to update the "wrong" fields again after un-linking the citations and that is risky...

When you say "sync" do you mean that you (within Libre Office) click the insert citation tool on the Zotero ribbon, select a record, and insert it to your document?
From what source did you obtain the record -- what site did you use to import the citation into Zotero?
What is your computer operating system?
What is the language setting of your computer?
What version of Libre Office?
What version of Zotero?
by sync I mean update citations and bibliography in libreoffice.
Windos 10 with LO version 7.3.0 and Zotero is the beta but not the latest build (I can't update automatically).
I also supposed it has to do with the character encoding, but I don't know where or how to fix it...
Are _all_ citations with accented characters causing problems or only one or a few?
From what source did you obtain the problem record(s) -- what site did you use to import the citation into Zotero? (Was the record imported from WorldCat? If no, knowing the website where you obtained it could help solve your problem and keep the problem from reoccurring.) Did you get the record from an online database, a publisher website, did you hand-enter the characters?
Have you successfully cited the Zotero record (that contains the characters) in other Libre Office documents? If the item has not been cited in any other documents, there might be a simple way to fix your problem.
Do other citations that have accented characters cause the problem?
What happens if you select the problem citation in Zotero and within Zotero (NOT libre Office) select create bibliography? Can you copy and paste the bibliographic copy of the Zotero record in a forum message? If you can copy/paste the record with accented characters the appearance of the pasted text might provide useful information that can help with your problem.
