incorrect retrieval of metadata

Hi, I'm trying to save a Natural England document and to enter the correct information so that this can be used in citation/bibliogrphy as the metadata retrieval isn't working (I think I am using this term correctly). I have tried saving both PDF saved on computer and from webpage (latter not working with extension). I have tried adding the referencing data myself but when testing the citation and bibliography it isn't working. The reference that should be used is stated on the second page of the document.
http://nepubprod.appspot.com/publication/5361572139761664 the 'file' is first in the list 'NEER017 Edition 1 A review of the evidence on the interactions of beavers with the natural and human environment in relation to England'

Can anyone help?
  • That's just a generic report, not an academic paper with registered metadata, so you shouldn't expect Zotero to be able to retrieve metadata from that PDF. Read through Retrieve PDF Metadata to better understand how that feature works and what to expect, as well as how to add metadata manually in a case like this.

You'd have to say more what you mean by this. They're giving you an example citation, but the actual citation you see would depend on whether you've fully entered all the appropriate metadata and what citation style you've selected.
  • AAAH I have realised you can change the item type! This has helped a little with then entering the data I need for the bibliography to display. HOWEVER I am now finding an issue in that no style fits for my institution. I have send a new discussion to the board. Thanks for your help
