In-text citation check mark

Hi all -

I am new to Zotero, I am wondering if there is a function similar to the built-in referencing tool in MS Word whereby when you insert a citation from your collection of references, it displays a check/tick mark next to the individual source reference in your collection to confirm that the citation has been used in the main body of your text?

I would greatly appreciate any help with this and apologies in advance if I have overlooked something very simple!

You can use colored tags for this. You can use https://rintze.zelle.me/ref-extractor/ with your document and click the Select Items in Zotero button to select all of the cited items and add the tag at once.

Most Zotero users use their library to write many different papers, so it doesn’t make sense to permanently mark items by default when they are cited in one paper.

Thanks, I understand. It just seems a shame that there is no built-in option for individual collections, appreciate your help though!
