Clicking anything in google docs zotero just highlights the hyperlink button. Does nothing else

I have installed the zotero connector for chrome and have it in google docs. When I uninstall and reinstall and click document preferences (with desktop zotero open) it says "preparing document" and literally stayed like this for 30 mins without doing anything. Tried using the zotero in google docs it just highlights the hyperlink without doing anything.

    The Document Preferences window might just be behind the main Zotero window.

    If you're sure it's not, restart your browser and try again. If it's still not working, restart your browser again and provide a Debug ID from Zotero for an attempt.
