Better/batch handling of many broken "link-to-file"s

I store all my journal articles in a directory outside Zotero.

I have "link-to-file"s to each of them to their corresponding library entry.

If I want to drag my entire journal directory to a new location (say, to a new drive which has more space), might there be a way for Zotero to

a) update links automatically (I'm guessing this is not possible unless Zotero was constantly prowling my computer for new PDFs as iTunes does for mp3s).
b) allow for easy updating of all links that changed as a result of a directory move. Clicking on each link one at a time and choosing "locate file" is a lot of work.

This is exactly what I need as well.

--At least, as I can neither find the "link to file" information (where is it stored?), the possbility of finding all the "link to file" units in the zotero folder and then changing them semi-automatically would also be great. Say, we referred all the links to C:/ User/ user in zotero. If this information were stored in somewhere a computer search could find we could find and replace that information with another phrase, say C:/ User/ user 2, when we move the linked files to another folder?
  • this is not currently possible.
Batch editing is planned, but I have no idea about where we stand on it.
The information is stored as part of the SQLite database, I believe - I guess theoretically it's possible to edit those, but you can also seriously shut down your Zotero doing that.
