Tag Selector Interface, Tag Pane -- Cannot see tags, cannot see search button (?)

With the tag selector toggled on, I am unable to view some of my tags on the right side of the tags pane. Some tags, and what I suspect to be the search button for the tag selector, seem to get 'cut off.' I am able to resize the middle and right hand panes a bit but not enough to make the tags and search button completely visible.

Using 2.0b6.5; FF 3.5.2; OSX
  • I had the same problem. I went through and deleted any absurdly long auto-tags of extremely long length, which returned the tag selector to a manageable width. It also restored the vertical scrollbar, which for some reason disappears whenever a tag is wider than the tag selector pane happens to be. A horizontal scrollbar, meanwhile, would be a worthy addition.

Relatedly, the "Filter" field always ends up being as wide as the widest tag, which means that the "actions" menu is often stranded beyond the right-most frontier of the tag selector.

I love Zotero but the tag selector is a weak spot. At the very least, perhaps one could have one's tags arrange in a single column, rather than arrayed in an unwieldy cloud. Ideally, the tag selector would be more manipulable, with some way to sort/organize/arrange tags.

Even more ideal would be the power to integrate collections, tags, and saved searches, not unlike the functions of Evernote 2 (NOT Evernote 3).
  • The problem of long tags extending the tag selector past the viewable area is fixed in the latest dev builds, and the fix will be included in 2.0b7. Long tags will simply be truncated with an ellipsis at a certain point.
  • ghblaustein -- Thanks for the suggestion about the long tags, this did indeed work.

Dan -- Thanks for the heads up on the dev builds, and for continually providing good feedback.
