Style Request: Polar Research
Hello, I would like to request a CSL for the open access journal Polar Research.
Online style documentation: https://polarresearch.net/index.php/polar/author
eISSN: 1751-8369
In-text citation:
(Campbell & Pedersen 2007)
(Mares 2001)
[Note that that journal and edited volume name should be in italics, but I can't figure out how to format text on the forums]
Link to recent paper:

Thanks very much!

We'll have a look at this style in the coming weeks.
Is there anyway I could make a donation to speed up the process? I'm waiting to resubmit a paper and really want to avoid manually changing all of my references.
I'm also just really impressed with you guys for volunteering your time to do this and would like to support you.
No worries either way.
On the right here you can click on "Sponsor this project" if you'd like. :)

Otherwise right click on it, save as, install.
Btw, the journals doesn't require a specific style on submission, but I had a quick go at it anyway.
The CSL looks really good. If possible, it would be great to fix a couple of minor things:
- In-text: "et al." should not be italicized
- Bibliography: Is it possible/necessary? to get a smaller indent for the second line of the references? Currently, it looks about twice as large as what I see published in the journal.
That's a setting in your word processor. CSl just has indent yes/no. But the journal will do that for you. No need for you to think about it.
Will this be uploaded to the regular repository for others to find and use? Would it be alright to share this with the journal editor so they can point people to it?
Also, instead of the URL being "Available at", could it be changed to: "Accessed on the internet at [URL] on [date accessed] (in the format 24 September 2021)
We can make changes, but they need to be in line with the guidelines/consistent in the papers.
1) I don't see title casing for the titles.
2) I'll submit a fix for the web citation.
I see only one error: current syle has wrong name order in the editors of the book:
current output: "In Leadbeater B.S.C. & Green J.C. (eds.):"
correct output: "In B.S.C. Leadbeater & J.C. Green (eds.):"
@damnation: can you look at this?
@stephen_chignell It seems as you have title case in your Zotero records. You must change it in Zotero directly (right-click on the titles) - it cannot be done by the style.
Preview of style available via https://raw.githubusercontent.com/citation-style-language/styles/76277f353ebd626fb280e275e241192435bfda41/polar-research.csl
"Lowry L. 2016. Pusa hispida. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species 2016: e.T41672A45231341. Accessed on the internet at https://doi.org/10.2305/IUCN.UK.2016-1.RLTS.T41672A45231341.en on 1 November 2020."
I saved it as a webpage into the Zotero (https://www.zotero.org/groups/1179346/testing_csl_styles/items/VHHJETSX/). If I use URL instead of DOI the style produces:
"Lowry L. 2016. Pusa hispida. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species 2016: e.T41672A45231341. Accessed on the internet at https://dx.doi.org/10.2305/IUCN.UK.2016-1.RLTS.T41672A45231341.en on 17 November 2021."
But if the DOI is used in Extra field then the output seems:
"Lowry L. 2016. Pusa hispida. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species 2016: e.T41672A45231341. , doi: 10.2305/IUCN.UK.2016-1.RLTS.T41672A45231341.en."
There is ". ," before "doi:"!!!

Huge thanks to you all, this is looking great.
