Zotero won't load items

I've been having issues viewing items in my library. At first, I was having issues with Zotero crashing immediately after I opened it. I thought it might be because of the large amount of files in my group libraries since I am working with other researchers on a big research project so I turned off automatic sync. After that, it stopped crashing. But now, after I open it and click on any folder, it just says " Loading items" and stays that way for hours.
I followed the steps I saw on another thread to generate a debug ID. The debug ID is D1823810710.
Btw, I checked and it doesn't need updating.

    Right, so you have almost half a million items (including child items) in the group library, and Zotero is running out of memory. On Windows, for technical reasons, Zotero is currently limited to using ~3 GB of memory. If your colleagues are using macOS or Linux, they won't have this problem (though Zotero is going to be fairly slow with 500K items no matter what, since that's at the extreme end of what anyone uses it with and isn't regularly tested).

    I'm afraid there's not much to tell you at this point other than to use macOS or Linux if that's an option or see if you can reduce the number of items in the group library. We intend to release a version for Windows that doesn't have this memory-usage limitation, but I don't know when that will be available.
  • @Joanna.abillama: You can also try the Zotero beta to see if that's any better. I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be, but there are some significant changes, so it's possible. I would back up your existing zotero.sqlite file first in case you want to downgrade.
