Zotero connector fails to save spinger publication to library when using proxy
- Report id 1903963282 (but it’s probably empty? the config page says no errors logged).
- Zotero 5.0.96.3
- Zotero Connector add-on 5.0.91
- Firefox 91.0.2 x64
- Non-proxied link https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-030-85665-6_37
- Proxied link, setup through connector and automatically redirected with scheme %h.recursos.biblioteca.upc.edu/%p (dot-to-hyphen conversion enabled):
https://link-springer-com.recursos.biblioteca.upc.edu/chapter/10.1007/978-3-030-85665-6_37
When I click the « Save to Zotero » menu bar icon, the popup to change the default storage location appears, then nothing happens:
- no article is saved in the library
- nothing in connector debug log
- nothing in zotero debug log
- inspecting the connector from `about:debugging` I repeatedly see the following error:
Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: feeds is undefined
queryFeeds moz-extension://{extension id}/background.js:203 background.js:203:12

feeds
variable in the entire Connector codebase! Are you sure that you're inspecting the right extension? The most reliable way to debug Connector problems is to go to its preferences -> Advanced -> Enable Logging. Try to save the item and then click View Output in the preferences. Post that log somewhere like Pastebin, GitHub Gist, etc., and I'll take a look.
@AbeJellinek I’m certain the error shows up when inspecting Zotero. The error showing up might be from a different codebase though, I didn’t compare the add-on codes. Maybe a bad interaction between add-ons.
See https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output#zotero_connectors_firefox_chrome_and_safari (also linked by dstillman). Debug IDs start with D and contain signficantly more details (they'd also never be empty for clicking the Save to Zotero button)
