My Google Docs file has broken zotero links, At an earlier point, I had turned off automatic updates. Now when I try to click on Document Preferences to turn it back on, the menu item does not come up for a long time, and the action does not complete.
Appreciate pointers to fix this issue.

But they would be related to the Connector not working properly, since the Connector has to be enabled and running for you to be able to copy and paste citations without their becoming unlinked.
Restart your browser and try again, and provide a Report ID from the Zotero Connector for a reload of the Google Docs page if you're still having trouble.
It turns out that the menu item is working - I just had to switch to the zotero app to see it.
The unlinked citations issue has to do with multiple editors in the Google docs and them needing to have the zotero connector installed. I am having them do so.
