How to generate citation key?

I saw a video where the OP was able to automatically generate a citation key for his pdfs. I can't seem to see the citation key in the info generated by Zotero. How can I enable this?

    If you are planning on using Zotero with BibTeX or Markdown, you should install the BetterBibTeX plugin. This adds a bunch of features for users working with these systems, including displaying a persistent citation key for items.
