Error report 1158444615: crash while editing note

This is a description of what I was doing when hit by a crash reported as 1158444615.

I was editing a note in the Zotero main window (not with "Edit in a separate window"). I was using Ctrl-I for italic text, Shift-Enter for newlines (rather than a paragraph break), and Tab for indentation. But occasionally I would forget to use Shift-Enter, or to turn off italic text, and I had to use Backspace to rewind a bit. Then as I was typing I was hit by this crash.

I realize this is hardly a reproducible series of steps, but I hope there is relevant information in the log.
  • Please consider this in addition to my notes on error report 1158444615.

I had a note that ended with the following text (where * indicates italic text and is Shift-Enter, i.e. not a paragraph break):

Without *ve*: *If the sun is hot, ...*

At this point italic text was on. I now followed the following steps:

    1. Ctrl-I to turn italic text off. This results in italic text being turned off, and a new paragraph being started.
    2. Backspace to go back to the .
    3. Ctrl-I to turn italic text off here.
    4. Shift-Enter to start a new line.
    5. Tab to indent.
    6. Enter "With ".
    7. Ctrl-I to turn on italic text.

This is where the text "With " suddenly becomes italic (this is not what I intended), and Zotero crashes.

What I actually want to enter is:

Without *ve*: *If the sun is hot, ...*
    With *ve*: *some more text*

Thanks for the report. There's a new note editor in the Zotero beta, so whatever bug in the current editor is causing this will be fixed when Zotero 6 is released later this year.
