Unable to add citations to Google doc in Chrome

I have had the Zotero connector installed in Chrome for a long time and have used it successfully to save references to Zotero.

Now I am trying to use to add citations to a Google doc.

When I try anything from the Zotero drop down menu, like adding a citation, a big red bar appears, without a search box. That's it. No progress possible past that point.

    Can you take a screenshot of what you're seeing, upload it somewhere (e.g., Dropbox or Google Drive), and provide a link here?

    I am having the exact same issue. I have tried uninstalling and installing the chrome connector. I have the most recent zotero version. I have tried closing chrome, reloading tab, closing zotero, disabling all other extensions, etc.. All of these in various orders. Nothing is working. That same big red bar without a search box.

    @nininja: You'll want to check to see if a Zotero window is appearing behind your other windows. If you're sure that it's not, restart your computer and try again, and if you're still having trouble, provide a Debug ID from Zotero for an attempt to insert a citation.

    The window for searching and selecting a reference was indeed appearing under another window. In my case on a different monitor. Problem solved, thanks.

    I restarted and am getting the same thing. The zotero window is visible, but there is no way to search for the citation. There is a solid red, unmoveable bar, and the zotero window. But no clear connection in any way between them. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding how to use the add citation tool? Here is my debug id: D1076992639D1076992639

    @nininja: Restart Zotero and your browser and provide a Debug ID for the very first attempt to use the plugin. This appears to be for a later attempt.
