Zotero connector stopped working

After following the steps in this page https://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues

and getting no luck, I am turning to the community for help.

What it says in the popup when you try to save (e.g., “Saving to My Library” or “Saving to zotero.org”): nothing pops up.

The name of the translator from step 10, if applicable: n/a


It all worked fine until a week or so ago. Now I can't get it to work on any website. I've made sure I'm runnign the newest version of everything involved, have tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox), and can't get the pieces to talk to each other. I don't have proxies or firewall enabled, and I've disabled all other extensions. I'm at a loss. How did this happen? How do i fix it?
  • You're saying that nothing is popping up in any browser when you click the save button?

    You should try restarting your computer if you haven't yet.

    zoteroAvailable => false
    If Zotero is open, something on your computer or in your browser is preventing the Connector from accessing it. This isn't a problem in the Connector itself.
