Item Type - Working Paper

Hello - is there a way to create the Item Type "Working Paper"? I'd like to distinguish between peer-reviewed journal articles and working papers presented through an institution/organization, etc. Thanks.

The CSL citation style language type for this is “article”. Zotero will add a preprint/working paper type in a future version. For now, you can tell Zotero to cite an item as a preprint by entering this in the Extra field:
Type: article

Okay, thank you. I decided to use "Report" instead, and indicated "Working Paper" as the Report type. These aren't actually preprints so, for now, this is a good workaround. Thanks for getting back to me.

"Future version"? How much longer do we have to wait?
People have been asking for this for ages!

There have been issues on missing features concerning preprints for more than a decade (two examples https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/10034/spires-bibtex-and-the-arxiv-problems-missing-features/p1 and https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/112964#Comment_112964).

An infinite number of information losses and discussions (=time of our lives) on workarounds on how to deal with this lack of feature.

Could you please just add a working paper/preprint type?

@iacobina The CSL item type for working papers and preprints, such as documents posted to ArXiV, is 'article' (this is distinct from ‘article-journal')

You can access this type now by adding this to Extra for any item:
Type: article
