BibTex import failed (461649092)

I was trying to import one of my BibTex files, the first two records of which are below:

@comment{This file has been generated by Pybliographer}

@InProceedings{cater03attention,
Author = {Cater, K. and Chalmers, A. and Ward, G.},
Title = {Detail to {A}ttention: {E}xploiting {V}isual {T}asks
for {S}elective {R}endering},
BookTitle = {Eurographics {S}ymposium on {R}endering},

}

@Book{foley95graphics,

Title = {Computer {G}raphics - {P}rinciples and {P}ractice},
Publisher = {Addison-Wesley Publishing Company},
Edition = {Second Edition in C},
year = 1995
}

...

The file isn't particularly large--less than 200 lines.
Firefox 3.5.2, Zotero 2.0Beta, Fedora 11

There was no clue as to what went wrong, just 'an error occurred'.
  • If I save just that block to a file and try to import it (or import via clipboard), it works fine. Does it not for you?
  • No, not even the two entries work. Is there anything I can do to help debug this (Firebug etc.)?
  • Turn on debug logging in the Advanced pane of the Zotero prefs, try the import, and then send in the output and post the ID here.
  • I tried the Import from clipboard option which worked fine, even on the original, bigger file (not just the snippet).

    The strange thing (which I probably should mention) is that when I try to import with the Import... option and pick the .bib file in the File Dialog, Firefox asks me what I want to do with this .bib file, suggesting opening it in Pybliographer. Since there is no point in involving Pybliographer, nor any other external application, I hit Cancel. So I guess the file somehow never gets through to the Zotero plugin, but gets stuck in the browser, so to say...
  • Oh, thanks for that.
