Software URL is Not Showing in IEEE Bibliography

I want to reference a GitHub Repository by adding it as Item Type Software and providing all the necessary details including the URL.
the problem is when I add the bibliography it shows it without the URL.

Is this normal? If yes, what are your suggestions?
  • any ideas ? I'm using Zotero plugin on microsoft word in mac
  • IEEE does not generally include URLs for any item type. There is an “IEEE with URL” version available in the style repository.
  • Thanks bwiernik ! I didn't know that. I'll try the "IEEE with URL". Thank you for your help.

@bwiernik That's not correct - perhaps in the past but the current version (released 29th of Jan this year) definitely includes URLS for items sourced online:

    http://journals.ieeeauthorcenter.ieee.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/7/IEEE_Reference_Guide.pdf

The only time a URL may not be included for an online reference is if the reference has a DOI - in which case it's acceptable to just provide the DOI (see III. Notes About Online References).

Here's all the types in the IEEE referencing guide that are required to include a URL:

    Books, Monographs (Online)
    Conference Paper Online
    Conference Proceedings Online
    Lecture Online
    Manual (Online)
    Online Video (e.g., YouTube)
    Patent Online
    Periodicals Online
    Report Online
    Standard Online
    Thesis Online
    Government Documents Online
    Websites
