Surnames with prefixes?

I've been using Zotero to add references by clicking on the link from the address bar, and I just noticed that authors with prefixes on their surnames (e.g., 'Joe van der Noor') lose the prefix part when they are added (e.g., in this case, the name comes out to 'Noor, Joe').

Where does the 'van der' part in this example normally go? Do I have to double-check and manually add this for any references with such names?
  • I think that depends on the database this is scraped from - so that part doesn't really depend on Zotero.
Currently, Zotero does not handle these terribly well in citations, but my understanding is that will be improved. Personally, I'd put them in first name, because they're commonly not used for alphabetical sorting - i.e. Noor, Joe van der
