  • One other papercut: It would be nice if middle-clicking on a tab closed it, like in Firefox.

@bwiernik, @safonso: How universal is this? I've always just assigned my mouse's scroll-wheel button to Cmd-W so it can close any window, which seems more useful than relying on specific programs to support this.
  • The middle click to close tab has been around forever, AFAIK, every browser has had it since Opera waaaaay back implemented tabs.

As far as I can tell middle-click to close a tab is super universal, works in all modern browsers (across desktop OS landscape) as well as outside browsers in other tab-based UIs such as text editors, IDEs etc.
  • Yeah, every tabbed program on my computer that I’ve tried supports it.
