Trouble making very minimalist citation style
I'm trying to create a very minimalist citation style for a research proposal that includes references in the page limit. What I'm aiming for is something that, in the bibliography, lists Author et al., Year, Publication
If I can abbreviate the publication name somehow that would be even better.
I used this tool:
https://editor.citationstyles.org/visualEditor/
To try to do this and that editor gives me references that look reasonable and outputs the csl text that I will paste at the bottom of this post. When I load into zotero, the bibliography tells me the general format is
[1]
N.d. n.d.
While the visual editor gives me format
[1] Mares, I., 2001. Oxford University Press.
[2] Hawking, S., 1966.
I presume the visual editor is misformatting for zotero. I had started with The Journal of Basic Microbiology format, and just deleted some entries to get to this format.
My code
It turns out pasting csl code is non trivial in this forum. Doing some more research on that front.
Ok, code is available here:

N.d. n.d. suggests that you're trying to cite empty data, possibly an attachment rather than a Zotero item with metadata. The style looks fine, at least in general terms.
