In Web Library pdf cannot be opened

Hello,

I use Zotero for a couple of months. I keep my files in my local laptop directory and also with Zotfile I sync them in my cloud (Box).

However while I am mobile I want to read my annotated pdfs from my ipad or phone. For this there are two options;
1- Using my cloud service; but to find a pdf I am looking for is almost impossible. Because all pdfs are in only one folder without any tag etc.
2- Using my "web library" in Zotero website; but I cannot open the pdf files I don't know why. I only can see the data of them. I checked also how much space is consumed in my Zotero storage (Home/Settings/Storage in Website) I can briefly say pdfs are not uploaded to zotero only the data and tags are synced.

But what I recognized if I upload the pdfs I created (which has no metadata) Zotero successfully uploads them and in web library it forwards me a link like https://files.zotero.net/....

So is there any recommendation, how can I open all my files on web library?

    If you want to open files on zotero.org, you need to use stored files and Zotero file syncing.

    Hello @dstillman. I have already read all of them and couldn't succeed but after your message I realized I didn't sync Zotfile to Zotero File Storage. Now it works. Thanks.

    But what I want is actually keeping all my files in my cloud and in web library calling my files from my cloud. Without consuming space in Zotero File Storage. I am not sure if something like that possible.

    Now I tried WebDav instead of Zotero File Storage (/Preferences/Sync/File Syncing in Zotero Application) and I directed same cloud and same subfolder for Zotfile sync path. But at the end I couldn't call the relevant pdfs from my cloud in Zotero Web Library.

    No, it's not. As I say, you need to use Zotero file syncing to open files from the web library.

    I'm not sure what you mean by this but you absolutely shouldn't point anything else at the WebDAV folder you use for file syncing.

    Actually what I want is quite simple. Keeping all the files in my cloud and asking when I want to open a pdf file in Web Library expecting to direct me to the relevant file in my cloud.

    But this is an completely another topic to discuss. Maybe it is more wise to open another topic :) But thanks anyway @dstillman

    (As mentioned above, that's not possible. You can only open files in Zotero file storage from the web library)
