Feature request for Zotero Standalone: remove duplicated PDF documents during merge

Sometimes merging two duplicated items results in having two PDF documents for one Zotero database item, and very often these two PDF documents are byte-by-byte identical. Could we implement option to automatically remove byte-by-byte identical files?

Extended feature could be ask user whether to keep [older / newer / both] PDF documents during merge of duplicated items.

    Yes, merging byte-identical files is definitely something we want to do, but we need to decide what to do with metadata differences. E.g., if the attachment title is different (pick the one from the chosen parent item? the longer one? the one not matching the filename?), or the filename (probably doesn't really matter), or there are different embedded notes (just concatenate?). Tags are easy — those can be merged.
